What the information on this site is, what it is not, and where you should rely on a qualified professional rather than a web page.

Can I rely on the guidance on this site?

For general understanding, yes. For a decision about your specific appliance, no. The guidance here cannot see your appliance, and the same symptom routinely points at either a cheap part or an expensive one. A diagnosis is what distinguishes them.

This disclaimer applies to all content on this website, published by Pro Emergency Appliance Repair LLC, trading as Pro Emergency Appliance Repair. Last updated .

General information, not a diagnosis

Everything on this site is general information about how appliances work and fail. It is not a diagnosis of your appliance and it is not professional advice for your situation. We have not seen your appliance, heard the noise it makes or measured anything.

This matters more than it sounds, because the same symptom genuinely points at very different faults at very different prices. A refrigerator that is not cooling might need an evaporator fan or might need a compressor. A dryer with no heat might need a thermal fuse or might need a motor. No web page can tell you which, and any page claiming to can be safely ignored.

Price ranges are bands, not quotes

Every figure on this site is a typical completed-repair range including parts and labor, based on the component that failed and the local market. Nothing published here is an offer to perform work at that price, and nothing here is binding on us or on you.

The only binding figure is the flat-rate quote given on site after a technician has diagnosed the actual fault. Brand-specific electronics, sealed-system work, built-in installations and premium brands can all push a job above the published band, and the technician will say so before you commit to anything.

Service life figures are general guidance

Expected service life figures quoted on this site are general industry guidance, not predictions about your appliance. Real service life varies considerably with usage intensity, water hardness, ambient temperature, maintenance history and the quality of the original installation. An appliance can comfortably exceed the top of its range or fail well below the bottom.

Safety guidance has limits

The safety guidance on this site is drawn from published sources, which are linked wherever it appears. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional, and it does not cover every situation you might encounter.

Some things are not DIY tasks under any circumstances. Do not open a microwave cabinet, because the high-voltage capacitor can hold a lethal charge after unplugging. Do not attempt refrigerant work, which requires EPA Section 608 certification by law. Do not carry out gas line or household electrical wiring work, which require the relevant licensed trade.

If you smell gas, see smoke or sparking, or find standing water that has reached an outlet, stop and contact your gas utility or 911 before contacting anyone about a repair. We are an appliance repair company and not an emergency service.

Any checks you carry out on your own appliance are at your own risk. Where this site describes a check, it also describes the precautions, and both matter.

No manufacturer affiliation

Pro Emergency Appliance Repair is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by or endorsed by any appliance manufacturer, including every brand named anywhere on this site. Brand names and trademarks appear only to describe the appliances our technicians service, and they remain the property of their respective owners.

If your appliance is still within its manufacturer warranty, work by an independent repairer may affect that warranty. Check your position before engaging us, because a brand-authorised visit may cost you nothing.

No reviews, ratings or statistics we cannot verify

There are no customer testimonials, star ratings or review counts on this site, and no aggregateRating markup in its structured data. That is deliberate. We will not publish reviews we cannot verify, and we would rather have an empty section than an invented one.

For the same reason, we do not publish statistics about repair success rates, response times or customer satisfaction. Where a claim on this site would need real-world verification, it is marked as pending rather than asserted.

External links

We link to a small number of government and independent sources, including CPSC appliance recall notices (opens in a new tab) , US Fire Administration home fire prevention (opens in a new tab) , EPA Section 608 refrigerant rules (opens in a new tab) and ENERGY STAR appliance guidance (opens in a new tab) . We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, which may change after we link to it.

Accuracy and availability

We try to keep this site accurate and current, and content carries a review date. Even so, appliance designs change, parts are discontinued, prices move and pages can fall out of date. We make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error free.

Coverage, arrival windows and same-day availability vary by ZIP code and by day, and nothing on this site guarantees that a technician can attend your address at a particular time. Call (844) 578-2720 to confirm what is actually available.

Same-day windows are often still open today.

We hold back part of each day for breakdowns that cannot wait, such as a warming freezer or a washer leaking onto the floor. Call now and the dispatcher will tell you honestly whether today or tomorrow morning is the earliest realistic arrival window.

Mon to Sun, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Call us any day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST.
